Meteor Shower Team
Project Overview
Team Formation
The Meteor Shower Team initiated this project within the Chingu community with the goal of gaining valuable teamwork experience and enhancing our skill set. Our team comprised 5 Developers and 2 Product Owners.
Project Duration
The project spanned 6 weeks, aligning with Chingu's guidelines and Agile methodology.
Initial Team Setup
Introduction and Ideation
Initially, we introduced ourselves as team members, as Chingu admins had arranged the team composition. Each team member contributed to brainstorming project ideas and added optional suggestions.
Project Planning and Organization
Project Complexity
While our project wasn't overly complex, we aimed for excellence by employing best practices and integrating optional features. The success of our project can be attributed to the talent and constant dedication of our team members.
Communication
We established a robust communication framework, conducting at least one weekly video Stand-Up meeting and daily Stand-Up discussions via chat. These meetings served as opportunities to discuss ongoing tasks, issues, and most notably, generate new ideas. Frequent Discovery-Design Cycles allowed us to continuously improve our project.
Agile-Based Development
Sprint Meetings
We scheduled two video-based meetings each week during the sprints. The first was the weekly Stand-Up, which included discussions of new ideas. The second was the Sprint Review and Retrospective, held at the end of each sprint. During these meetings, we planned for the next sprint and reviewed the accomplishments and lessons learned from the previous sprint.
Second Sprint Milestone
In the second sprint, we solidified our project vision, identified epics, user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria. Additionally, we designed the wireframes, selected the app's name, and created a logo. To manage our project effectively, we established Agile Boards in Trello and GitHub Issues.
Responsibilities Shift
Throughout the project, we adapted to the evolving needs. Initially, Product Owners took on more responsibilities during sprints 1, 2, and 6, while developers assumed more significant roles in sprints 3, 4, and 5. This flexibility allowed us to maintain our agile workflow effectively.
Development and Deployment
Sprints 3, 4, 5
During these sprints, our developers dedicated substantial effort to implementing all planned features. We made the strategic decision to deploy our Meteor Shower App during the middle of sprint 5, enabling us to continue refining the code and adding optional features post-deployment.
Deployment Success
The deployment phase included tasks related to GitHub, and it culminated in the successful launch of our Meteor Shower App.
Conclusion
In summary, our Meteor Shower Team embarked on a rewarding journey within the Chingu community, adhering to a 6-week sprint-based Agile methodology. Our commitment to effective communication, adaptability, and constant innovation allowed us to deliver a well-crafted project that aligns with our collective goals and aspirations.
